Zenith Pilot Chronograph type CP 2 – Flyback – Ref 11.2240.405 – Cal 405 - SS

Beautiful Zenith Pilot Chronograph Flyback watch with round gray dial and two sub dials with minutes a 3 o’clock and seconds at 9 o’clock. The dial has white Arabic numerals for the hours and an outer second ring for the chronograph. At 6 o’clock is engraved “Flyback”. The hands are white with baton style. It is a Swiss Made model. The watch comes with a black bezel graduated up to 45. The crown comes with the Zenith logo. It is an aged stainless steel back case with exhibition sapphire and engraved around “Zenith 383 133 – 11.2240.405 – 100m”. The watch comes with the famous El Primero 405 movement and 31 jewels. The watch comes with the original strap and steel Zenith buckle.

History

A man called Georges Favre Jacot set-up a company in 1865. He experienced a large successful offering pocket watches as accuracy as possible. In 1896, it won a gold medal at the Swiss National Exhibition. In 1960, Zenith takes over Martel Watch Co., which developed the calibers 285 and 749 for Universal. They became the 246 Zenith family. In 1969, Zenith introduces the first ever-automatic chronograph with central winding rotor, the mythical “El Primero”. Since 1999, the company is owned by LVMH. Their current leading products are “Chronomaster XXT”, the tourbillon chronograph, the “Traveler” and “Defy Xtreme”. 

Technical details

Automatic Zenith movement with caliber El primero 405 with 31 jewels and 36,000 A/h. The power reserve is 50 hours. Functions are chronograph and flyback. It is the base caliber of the El Primero 400. It comes with 331 components and was introduced in 1997.
