Breitling Superocean Chronograph II with Reference A13341 in stainless steel with black round dial, batons for each hour. It is a limited edition of 518/2000. Three red sub dials for the hours at 6 o’clock, seconds at 9 o’clock and minutes at 12 o’clock. The hands are in silver with “Baton” style. The second hand is red All the luminous are excellent. The date window comes at 3 o’clock. It is a “Swiss Made” model. On the outer of the dial comes a ring for second. At 3 o’clock, you have engraved “Chronometre Superocean 500M/1650FT”. The watch has a unidirectional rotative red bezel with marks for every 5 digits. The watch has a screwed crown with Breitling logo. It is a screw back case with engraved outside “Chronographe certifie Chronometre” –– Manufacture en Suisse – Etanche 500M – A13341 – Edition Limitee 518/2000”. The watch has a Breitling automatic movement with caliber 13 and 25 jewels. It is a stainless-steel bracelet with double clasp Breitling buckle. The length of the bracelet is 7.75 inches. The watch comes with the box.
History
Leon Breitling started Breitling in 1884 with his own chronograph. In 1892, Leon built a watch manufacture called “G. Leon Breitling S.A., Montbrillant Watch Factory. In 1914, Gaston Breitling takes over the business and creates the “Vitesse” model. In 1932 Willy Breitling took over his father and creates the “Chronomat” in 1947 and then the “Navitimer” in 1952. In 1962, a Breitling chronograph was catapulted into the space at astronaut Scott Carpenter wrist. Then came the famous caliber 11 in 1969 called “Chronomatic” developed by Breitling and Heuer. The story of Breitling ended in 1979 before being revived by Ernest Schneider in 1982 and managed today by his son Theodore.
