Daniel Roth Tourbillon Double Face with Ref C187 in white gold – Full Set – This is an icon timepiece of the Neo Vintage era
A stunningly beautiful watch that symbolizes Daniel Roth’s craftsmanship and technical prowess like none other, this incredible tourbillon-touting timepiece also features a triple-handed tourbillon cage with hands of varying lengths that sweep over 20-second scales as the tourbillon rotates. Paired with this vastly complex feature is a stunning two-tone grey dial with vertical pinstripe guilloche engraving and concentric satin finish along the chapter rings, which combine with the white gold double ellipse ocurvex case to create a wonderful monochromatic aesthetic that is just sublime. The back face comes with a date 1-31 corrector dial and power reserve indicator of 40 hours. The watch comes the original Daniel Roth black alligator handmade strap and white gold buckle. Width between lugs is 20mm. It is a full set including box, international warranty and booklet.
The following was written by Daniel Roth for this watch: A watch with a tourbillon regulator, displaying the hours and the minutes, indicating the seconds in three zones on the dial; as well as the remaining power reserve and date on the back. A cage in which the constant auto-rotation of the escapement assures and achieves precision by eliminating the effects of gravitation.
History
Daniel Roth was founded in 1989 in Le Sentier, Switzerland, year when he also introduced his double-sided Tourbillon and the retrograde display. The company philosophy is to mostly create high complications timepieces. The focus has always been on high complications finished to perfection and combined with an innovative design especially the Ellipsocurvex case. The company offers two lines the “Academie” and “Masters”. Most of the movement are designed, manufactured and assembled in the factory. It is a small company really focused on high-end wristwatches. In 2000, the Bulgari Group acquired the company. Since 2011, Bulgari is owned by LVMH and the new reedition timepieces will be supervised by “La Fabrique du Temps”.
Technical details
Daniel Roth automatic movement with caliber Lemania C187, 387 ebauche – a movement in which Roth worked closely with Lemania themselves to develop during his time at Breguet. this movement features Roth's heat blued triple-armed tourbillon, large black polished bridge, and the 'volutes en taille douce' pattern throughout its main plate. Despite this movement technically being a Lemania base, the level at which Roth was involved in its development is a testament to the breadth of his savoir-faire.
