Tissot Le Locle Chronometre with reference T006.408.11.057.00 with black dial and stainless-steel Roman numerals and batons marking each hour. At 6 o’clock is engraved “Le Locle – Chronometre” and the window for the date is at 3 o’clock. It is a “Swiss Made” model. The hands are in stainless steel with leaf style. The crown comes with the Tissot logo. It is a stainless-steel case with exhibition sapphire case and engraved around “ Tissot 1853 – Mecanique – Automatique – T006408 A – Etanche 3 Bar (30m/100Ft) – Glace Sapphir – Le Locle”. The watch comes with an automatic movement with caliber 2824-2 and 25 jewels. The watch has a stainless-steel bracelet and double clasp buckle. It fits 7.75 inches plus wrist. It is a full set with warranty card, box, booklets and tags.

History

Tissot Cie was founded in Le Locle in 1853 by Charles Felicien and Charles Emile Tissot. Their objective was to supply the world in particular Russia and the United States with quality pieces. In 1904 came the “Tsar’s watch”. In 1920, Tissot started to manufacture their own movements. 1929 is a key moment as Omega and Tissot join their efforts and form the “SSIH” Societe Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogere. Tissot targeted the medium priced market with 42 models. Tissot is known for owning the 28.5N21 automatic caliber, however for its chronograph, Tissot used Lemania movements, its sister’s company.
