Rare Lecoultre – 14K YG – 1950’s – Cal 480 / CW - Serviced

Beautiful and rare Lecoultre with two tone inner gray and champagne dial with gold baton and Arabic numerals (3, 6, 9 and 12) marking each hour. At 6 o’clock comes the sub dial for the seconds with a beautiful black cross. The hands are in gold with a Sword design. The watch has a Lecoultre crown. It is a 14K yellow gold back case with engraved outside 14K gold and inside “33348 – Cased and Timed in the USA by Lecoultre. The watch comes with a Lecoultre manual winding movement with caliber 480 / CW with 17 jewels. The watch comes with a brown alligator strap. Width between lugs is 17mm. The watch has been serviced in 08/2026.

History

The story of Lecoultre started in 1833 with Charles Antoine LeCoultre. In 1844 he invented the “millionometre” and then in 1851, he obtained a gold medal for his work and products at the universal exhibition. In 1877, LeCoultre built movement and between 1860 and 1925, it made 60,000 with various level of complication. 1925 is the merger with Edmond Jaeger. After this time came amazing pieces like the duoplan and the smallest caliber 101. Then came the Reverso in 1931, the Memovox in 1951, the Futurematic in 1953. In july 2000, the company became part of the Richemont group.
