Rado DiaStar Skeleton – SS – Cal R808 – Full Set - Mint

Beautiful oval design Rado DiaStar Skeleton with sapphire crystal windows on both front and back makes the anthracite-grey coated automatic movement appreciated in full technical elegance. Each Hour is marked with a silver baton, and a grey outer ring mark each minute with a baton. It is a “Swiss Made” model. The crystal has a visual dance of contrasts depending how the watch is positioned. The crown comes with the Rado logo. It is a stainless-steel back case with engraved around “Rado Original -  Swiss Made – 16833276 - 10 bars” It is an automatic movement with caliber R808 and 25 jewels. It comes with a stainless-steel bracelet and double clasp folder. The bracelet fits a 7 inches plus wrist including the 2 links.  It is a full set with box, warranty card (5 years).

History

only watch movements. In 1947, the family hires Dr. Paul Luthi to manage the company. The company sells movements and is very successful in particular overseas. In 1954, the company started to face competition from Japan and other German companies and decides to make complete watch. In 1956, the company started their own watch brand “Exacto”, however, the name failed to be fully protected and arise then the name of “Rado” in 1957. In 1962, Rado introduces the first scratch-resistant wristwatch under the name of “Diastar”. Since 1983, the company is owned by the “Swatch group”.
