Doxa Ceramica Shark 300 – 44mm – SS - Automatic
Diving Doxa Ceramica Skark 300 with black dial and mark for each hour and minute. Outer yellow ring for additional time display. The window for the date is at 3 o’clock. At 6 o’clock is engraved “Ceramica – Automatic – Shark 300” It is a “Swiss Made” model. The hands are white and silver with baton shape. The second hand is yellow. The watch comes with a ceramic bezel. The crown has the Doxa logo. It is a stainless-steel screwed back case with engraved in the back “Doxa 1889 – D 127 S – 12A 0350 – Swiss Made – Top Sapphire Crystal – 300 M water resistant – St Steel and Ceramic top ring”. It is an automatic movement. The watch comes with a bracelet and double Doxa clasp. The watch fits a 7.75 inches wrist.
History
When starting his workshops in 1889 in Le Locle, Georges Ducommum focus on producing pocket watches. His high-quality work made him earned awards in Liege in 1905 and Milan in 1906. His first patent is for an eight days movement. In 1910, the trademark Doxa is registered. In the 1920’s Doxa increased its activities with instrument-panel clocks for cars and planes as well as wristwatches. Then came ring-watches, ladies jewelry wristwatches, railway and travel clocks and many others. The strategy of Doxa was the high-end quality at a very reasonable price. In 1936 Georges died and then the company was taking over by his brother in law Jacques Nardin. In 1950’s, the jumping seconds was introduced, then the “Grafic” in 1958 and the “Sub 300” in 1967. Since 1997, the company belongs to the Jenny’s family.
