Breitling Superocean Chronometre Certifie Automatic with Reference A17390 in stainless steel with black round dial, dots for each hour and Arabic numerals marking 6 and 12 as well as from 13 to 24 hours. The hands are in silver with “Baton” style. The second hand comes with a red arrow. All the luminous are excellent. The date window comes at 3 o’clock. On the outer of the dial comes a ring for second. At 6 o’clock, you have engraved “Superocean” Chorometre Certifie Automatic 2000m /6000FT”. The watch has a unidirectional rotative bezel with marks for every 5 digits. The watch has a screwed crown with Breitling logo. It is a screw back case with engraved “Chronometre Officiellement Certifie –– Manufacture en Suisse – Etanche 2000M - A 17390 - 882070”. The watch is waterproof 2000 M. The watch has a Breitling automatic movement with caliber 17 and 25 jewels. It is a stainless-steel strap with double clasp Breitling buckle. The length of the bracelet is 7.75 inches. The watch comes with the box, Certificat of chronometry, and tag. .
History
Leon Breitling started Breitling in 1884 with his own chronograph. In 1892, Leon built a watch manufacture called “G. Leon Breitling S.A., Montbrillant Watch Factory. In 1914, Gaston Breitling takes over the business and creates the “Vitesse” model. In 1932 Willy Breitling took over his father and creates the “Chronomat” in 1947 and then the “Navitimer” in 1952. In 1962, a Breitling chronograph was catapulted into the space at astronaut Scott Carpenter wrist. Then came the famous caliber 11 in 1969 called “Chronomatic” developed by Breitling and Heuer. The story of Breitling ended in 1979 before being revived by Ernest Schneider in 1982 and managed today by his son Theodore.
