Breitling Bentley 24-hour Chronograph Le Mans limited edition 09/24 with reference K22362 with a round slate dial and white Arabic numerals for hours. 3 sub dials with minutes at 9 o’clock, hours at 6 o’clock and seconds at 3 o’clock. 2 outer rings, one being a tachymeter. At 6 o’clock is engraved in red “24 Heures du Mans”. Brushed gold bezel and Breitling crown. Window date at 4 o’clock.  It is a 18K yellow gold screwed case with engraved in the back “Edition Limitee 24 Heures du Mans - Manufactured by Breitling – Speed 8 – 09/24 -  K22362 – 436248 – Officially Certified Chronometer Tested – 10 Bars” Automatic” movement with caliber 22 with 21 jewels. It is a COSC chronometer certified movement. The watch come with a black alligator strap and 18K yellow gold buckle.  The watch comes with the box and Breitling service paper date 4/12/2010.

History

Leon Breitling started Breitling in 1884 with his own chronograph. In 1892, Leon built a watch manufacture called “G. Leon Breitling S.A., Montbrillant Watch Factory. In 1914, Gaston Breitling takes over the business and creates the “Vitesse” model. In 1932 Willy Breitling took over his father and creates the “Chronomat” in 1947 and then the “Navitimer” in 1952. In 1962, a Breitling chronograph was catapulted into the space at astronaut Scott Carpenter wrist. Then came the famous caliber 11 in 1969 called “Chronomatic” developed by Breitling and Heuer. The story of Breitling ended in 1979 before being revived by Ernest Schneider in 1982 and managed today by his son Theodore.
