Tudor Oyster 7904 in stainless steel with caliber 1182 from the 1950’s
Good condition, stainless steel Tudor Oyster with reference 7904. The watch has a light gray round dial with Arabic numerals for 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock and baton marking for other hours. It is a “Swiss Made” model. The hands are in gold with Dauphine style. The acrylic crystal is very clear and clean. It is screwed crown with the Rolex logo. It is a screwed back case with engraved inside “Montres Tudor SA – Geneva Switzerland Patented – Stainless Steel” and outside “7904 – 129212”. The watch has a manual winding movement with Tudor caliber 1182 on the base on the ETA 1080. The watch comes with a light brown strap. Width between lugs is 19mm
History
The Tudor name was registered in 1906 by a Swiss watchmaker named Isaac Blumenthal in memory of the famous Royal English family who reign from 1495 to 1603. In 1940, Mr. Wilsdorf founder and owner of Rolex trade the name “The Tudor”. Since, the Rolex of the street guy developed beautiful watches such as the “Hydronaut” or la “Princess Date Chronograph” with the particularity to have ETA movement, one of the ever made.
