Good condition, Tag Heuer Carrera automatic chronograph with round black dial and batons to mark each hour and outer ring up to 60. There are three sub dials, at 9 o’clock for the seconds, 6 o’clock for the hours and 12 o’clock for the minutes. The window for the date is at 3 o’clock. The hands are in stainless steel with baton style and red hand for the chrono. It is a Swiss Made model. The watch has a black tachymeter graduated up to 400. The crown has the Tag logo. It is a screw back case with exhibition sapphire crystal and engraved outside “Swiss Made since 1860 – Carrera – CV2014-1 – HN8980 – Sapphire Crystal – 50 M” The watch has an automatic movement with caliber 16 and 25 jewels. The watch comes with a rubber strap and a black leather strap with both a stainless-steel Tag Heuer clasp buckle. The watch comes with a Tag Heuer box.

History

The company was founded by Edouard Heuer in 1860 in opening a watch comptoir (dealership) in Saint Imier. In 1864, he moves to Bienne with a signed “E Heuer & Compagnie”. 1869, he applied for a patent for an “Independent crown-winding system”. In 1880, he is the first watch producer to start on the series production of chronographs. In 1910 Heuer creates the “doctor’s chronograph with pulsometer. In 1916 Heuer register a patent for the “Microsplit”. 1930, Heuer patented the design of waterproof case. 1949 comes the “Solunar” and the magic “Carrera” in 1963. 1964, Heuer merged with Leonidas S.A. Since 1999, the company is owned by the LVMH Group. In 2006, the “Carrera 360” took up the mantle of the “Microsplit”, a stopwatch accurate to 1/100th of a second.
