Porsche Design Compass P6520 in titanium - Limited Edition 421/911- NEW
Black Porsche Design limited edition Compass P6520 in titanium. The watch has a black round dial with a compass underneath. Each hour is marked with a white baton. The date window is a 3 o’clock. The hands are white with baton shape. Both marks and hands have Super Luminova. The second hand is red. It is a scratch-resistant, non-reflective sapphire crystal. The case with the dial opens with the lower lugs for the compass. The back case has a mirror. The lower half part of the case has a transparent compass with orange and white compass needle. On the outer compass back case is engraved “Porsche Design P 6520 – Limited edition 421/911 – Swiss Made – 50 M - 256.637 – M21. The watch has an automatic movement with caliber Sellita SW300. The bracelet is in black titanium with a folding clasp buckle. The retail price is over $8,000. Comes with booklets, tags, warranty and box.
History
Ferdinand Alexander Porsche is the grandson of the Porsche founder and the designer of the legendary Porsche 911. He founded the company Porsche Design in 1972. The genius behind Porsche Design GmbH set out to create a timepiece that perfectly pairs with famous sports cars. Much like the speedometer and the tachometer designs of the Porsche 911 automobile, the dials of Porsche watches are created in black to ensure optimal legibility. The first watch to be presented by Porsche Design is the world famous Chronograph I, which debuted in 1973 and features a matte black case that is comprised of stainless steel. From 1978 to 1995, Porsche design watches were manufactured at IWC Schaffhausen and later by Eterna. In 2014, Porsche presented its first self-developed watch – The Chronotimer Series 1.
