1958 Omega Seamaster reference 2975 with round black dial with style marks for each hour and dots for minute. On the dial at 6 o’clock comes Seamaster. It is a “T Swiss Made T” model. The hands are in gold with “Dauphine’ style. The crown has the Omega logo. The watch has a stainless steel and gold back case with engraved outside “Seamaster – Waterproof and inside “Ditchtung IM Boden Einstetzen - Loger Le Joint Dans Le Fond- Acier Inoxydable – Fab Suisse – Suisse Made – Patent 315164 – 2975 – 2 SC - First Washer in Back – Funga La Junta En El Fondo”.  It is an automatic movement with indirect sweeping second with Caliber Omega 500 and 17 jewels. The movement is numbered 16118155 and date the watch to 1958. The watch comes with a black leather strap. The width between lugs is 18mm.

History

The story of Omega started in 1848 with Louis Brandt when he opened a “Comptoir d’etablissement” a sales office for sub-contracted watch manufacture. In 1880, the brothers Louis Paul and Cesar Brandt set-up a modern watch production unit. In 1889, the company had a production of 100,000 units per year. The name of Omega only appeared in 1903. Omega has developed amazing movements such as the “Labrador” in 1885. In 1917, Omega provided watches to the British army and in 1918 to the American army. In 1957, the speedmaster professional was born and then selected by the NASA in 1965 as the official timekeeper. Today, Omega continues to demonstrate mechanical innovation and remain one of the most prominent brands in the world of watchmakers.
