Lecoultre dressy watch in 14K yellow gold -34mm and caliber K480/CW -VXN (Vacheron Constantin)
Beautiful Lecoultre with round creamy dial and gold baton for each hour and sub dial for the seconds at 6 o’clock. The dial shows signs of age. It is a “Swiss” Model. Nice gold guilloche bezel. The watch has a Lecoultre crown. The overall face is very interesting and appalling. The back case is in 14K solid yellow gold with engraved inside “Cased and time in the USA by Lecoultre 14K gold 415C548 – 119110” and outside “14K gold”. The watch has a manual wind movement with caliber Lecoultre K480/CW and 17 jewels with numbered 1421764. On the movement it indicates VXN for Vacheron Constantin. The watch comes with a brown leather strap. Width between lugs is 17mm.
History
The story of Lecoultre started in 1833 with Charles Antoine LeCoultre. In 1844 he invented the “millionometre” and then in 1851, he obtained a gold medal for his work and products at the universal exhibition. In 1877, LeCoultre built movement and between 1860 and 1925, it made 60,000 with various level of complication. 1925 is the merger with Edmond Jaeger. After this time came amazing pieces like the duoplan and the smallest caliber 101. Then came the Reverso in 1931, the Memovox in 1951, the Futurematic in 1953. In july 2000, the company became part of the Richemont group.
