Junghans Top Timer with round blue/grey dial and baton marking each hour. Comes an inner ring for the alarm set-up. The watch has a window at 3 o’clock for the day (German) and date. It is a “Made in German” model. The hands are in stainless steel with baton shape. The pushers have the Junghans logo and alarm clock logo. It is a screwed back case with engraved inside 5008 and outside “Waterressistant – Incabloc – Swiss Made – All Stainless Steel – Alarm”. The watch has an automatic movement with caliber AS 5008. The watch comes with a brown leather strap.

History

Founded in 1861 in Schramberg, Germany, Junghans AG activity was to manufacture cheap components for timepieces. In 1845, Erhard Junghans proposed to his brother to buy modern machinery overseas and then become a partner in the company. In 1862, both brothers with the equipment started to become very successful in manufacturing complete timepieces using the US methodology of the division of labor. In 1870, the company is composed of 100 employees producing 100 clocks a day. The next big phase was in 1930 when Junghans started to manufacture wristwatches and its own calibers. In 1949, Junghans presented a 14 ligne-Column- Wheel Chronograph caliber with 30 minutes counter. The first self-winding movement appeared in 1951 as did the Minivox alarm wristwatch and chronometer in 1952. The famous calibers were the J82 in 1954, and then the J83 and J83/1. In 1967, came the Astro Chron”. In 1985 the company became the property of Diehl Group and in 2000 to the Hong Kong group Egana. In 2006, the company introduced the calibers J830 and J890 (Chronograph).
