Jaeger Lecoultre Master Control with reference 140.8.89 with light grey dial, batons and Arabic numerals 6, 9 and 12 for the hours. At 6 o’clock is engraved “Automatique”. The hands are in steel with Dauphine style. The window for the date is at 3 o’clock. It is a Swiss Made model. The crown comes with the JLC logo. It is a screwed back case with engraved outside “Master Control – 1000 hours – number 9247 – Jaeger Lecoultre – 5 ATM – 140.8.89. It is an automatic movement with caliber 889/2 and 36 jewels. The watch has a black alligator JLC strap with double clasp JLC buckle. It is a full set with box, certificate of warranty and manuals.
History
The story of Lecoultre started in 1833 with Charles Antoine LeCoultre. In 1844 he invented the “millionometre” and then in 1851, he obtained a gold medal for his work and products at the universal exhibition. In 1877, LeCoultre built movement and between 1860 and 1925, it made 60,000 with various level of complication. 1925 is the merger with Edmond Jaeger. After this time came amazing pieces like the duoplan and the smallest caliber 101. Then came the Reverso in 1931, the Memovox in 1951, the Futurematic in 1953. In july 2000, the company became part of the Richemont group.
