The company was founded in 1914 by Eugene Meylan in Bienne, Switzerland. Initially specializing in miniature movements, clad in precious gold, gems and platinum cases for women, the brand soon embraced the gentlemen’s watch, becoming a favorite among the British and American jet-set. In 1931, it invented the EMSA module. In 1953, at the request of the British pilot and commander, Chat Brown, Glycine created the first “Airman”, a multiple time-zone watch. In 1965, the astronaut, Pete Conrad successful traveled to outer space and back home for the Gemini 5 flight wearing the Airman. In 1967, a new collection called “Combat” was launch. In 2016, the gycline was acquired by Invicta Watch Group.
