Breitling Chronomat Evolution – Ref A13356 – Cal 13 – Grey dial - Box

Breitling Chronomat Automatic in stainless steel with reference A13356 with grey round dial and silver Arabic numerals for hours. The watch has three sub dials, hours at 6 o’clock, seconds at 9 o’clock and minutes at 12 o’clock. The date window comes at 3 o’clock. On the outer of the dial comes a tachymeter graduated up to 500. The watch has a rotative bezel with marks for 15, 30 and 45. The watch has a screwed crown as well as pushers. It is a screw back case with engraved “Chronograph Certifie – Chronometre – Etanche 300 m – Manufacture en Suisse – A13356”. The watch is waterproof 30 ATM. The watch has an automatic movement with caliber Breitling 13. It is a stainless-steel bracelet with a double Breitling clasp. The watch comes with the box.

History

Leon Breitling started Breitling in 1884 with his own chronograph. In 1892, Leon built a watch manufacture called “G. Leon Breitling S.A., Montbrillant Watch Factory. In 1914, Gaston Breitling takes over the business and creates the “Vitesse” model. In 1932 Willy Breitling took over his father and creates the “Chronomat” in 1947 and then the “Navitimer” in 1952. In 1962, a Breitling chronograph was catapulted into the space at astronaut Scott Carpenter wrist. Then came the famous caliber 11 in 1969 called “Chronomatic” developed by Breitling and Heuer. The story of Breitling ended in 1979 before being revived by Ernest Schneider in 1982 and managed today by his son Theodore.
