Baume & Mercier with beautiful dial and lugs in 14K with ETA 1080
Baume & Mercier dressy watch with light gray dial, silver ring and gold baton for each hour. Please note the engraving of “Mercier”. At 12 o’clock you have a gold star. The hands are in gold with Dauphine style. The watch comes with the original B&M crown. The lugs on this watch are very stylish and offer a great aesthetic to the watch. It is a 14K yellow gold back case with engraved outside “B & M 14K” and inside “Baume & Mercier - 847189”. The watch has a manual winding movement with ETA 1080 with 17 jewels. The watch comes with a Baume & Mercier black strap with width between lugs of 17mm. Please note the grey ring on the dial is perfect.
History
In 1834, the Baume family founded the company “Baume Freres”. In 1844, Joseph Celestin Baume went to England to set up business relations whom opened doors to introduce watches signed “Waterloo”, “Diviko” and “Sirdar” to new markets. In 1893, the company won the timing competition at the Kew-Teddington observatory with a score of 91.9 out of 100. In 1912, William Baume met with Paul Mercier and in 1918 formed the establishment of “Baume & Mercier” in Geneva. After the war Constantin de Gorski joins the company and focus on conventional men’s watches, sports-chronographs and ladies jewelry watches. In 1965, Piaget took over the company. From the 1970’s the company invest on quartz movement. In 1993, the Cartier Group became sole owners of Piaget and Baume & Mercier.
