Baume & Mercier Linea Diamond bezel with ref 65399 in stainless steel
Baume & Mercier Linea with white strap dial. It is a Swiss Made model. The hands are in steel with Dauphine style. The watch comes with a diamond bezel and Arabic numerals for 6 and 12. It is a screwed back case with engraved outside “Baume & Mercier – Geneve – Stainless Steel – Acier Inox – 3296096 – 65339”. The watch has a quartz movement. The watch comes with a stainless-steel bracelet and double clasp buckle. Width between lugs is 15mm. The length of the bracelet is 6.5 inches.
History
In 1834, the Baume family founded the company “Baume Freres”. In 1844, Joseph Celestin Baume went to England to set up business relations whom opened doors to introduce watches signed “Waterloo”, “Diviko” and “Sirdar” to new markets. In 1893, the company won the timing competition at the Kew-Teddington observatory with a score of 91.9 out of 100. In 1912, William Baume met with Paul Mercier and in 1918 formed the establishment of “Baume & Mercier” in Geneva. After the war Constantin de Gorski joins the company and focus on conventional men’s watches, sports-chronographs and ladies jewelry watches. In 1965, Piaget took over the company. From the 1970’s the company invest on quartz movement. In 1993, the Cartier Group became sole owners of Piaget and Baume & Mercier.
