Breitling Cockpit Galactic in stainless steel with round white mother of pearl dial and batons and Roman numeral (12) who is marking each hour. At 6 o’clock is engraved “Chronometre Officiellement Certifie – 300M/1000ft”. Hands have the sword style. The date is at 3 o’clock. On the outer of the dial comes a fixed bezel with marks for 15, 30 and 45. The watch has a Breitling crown. It is a screwed back case with engraved outside “Breitling 1884 – Chronometre Officiellement Certifie - Manufacture en Suisse – Etanche 300m – A49350 - 966939”. The watch has an automatic movement with caliber Breitling 49 and 21 jewels. The watch comes with a stainless-steel bracelet and Breitling clasp. It fits a 7.5 inches wrist. Full set including box, outer box, Certification of chronometrie, booklet and international warranty.  

History

Leon Breitling started Breitling in 1884 with his own chronograph. In 1892, Leon built a watch manufacture called “G. Leon Breitling S.A., Montbrillant Watch Factory. In 1914, Gaston Breitling takes over the business and creates the “Vitesse” model. In 1932 Willy Breitling took over his father and creates the “Chronomat” in 1947 and then the “Navitimer” in 1952. In 1962, a Breitling chronograph was catapulted into the space at astronaut Scott Carpenter wrist. Then came the famous caliber 11 in 1969 called “Chronomatic” developed by Breitling and Heuer. The story of Breitling ended in 1979 before being revived by Ernest Schneider in 1982 and managed today by his son Theodore.
