Bell & Ross 300-S Space 3 Chrono – SS – Valjoux 7750 – 41mm - Serviced
It is the 3rd generation of their space series which just happened to be the first official automatic watch worn in outer space. This watch was designed to be worn by astronauts.
Bell & Ross 300-S Space 3 chrono comes with a round black dial and Arabic numerals for the hours. The watch has three sub-dials with hours at 6 o’clock, seconds at 9 o’clock and minutes are 12 o’clock. The date and day window are at 3 o’clock. The watch has an outer tachymeter graduated up to 300. The hands have stick design with red or white colors. It is a Swiss Made model. The watch comes with their game changing “T-Crown system”, a telescopic crown that rests flush with the case when fully screwed down and recessed chronograph pushers in rubber. The watch has a screwed back case with engraved outside “Stainless steel – Swiss Made – 300-S 00686 – Water Resistant – 200M 650FT – Automatic”. The watch has an automatic movement with Valjoux 7750 and 25 jewels. The watch comes with the original B&R rubber bracelet and double clasp stainless steel clasp. The bracelet fits a 7.5 inches wrist. The watch comes with the original box. Very nice collectible timepiece.
History
Bell & Ross was founded in 1992 as a university project between two lifelong friends, Bruno Belamich (Bell) and Carlos A. Rosillo (Ross), both of whom shared a vision of producing functional and durable timepieces. With their simple idea of ‘function shapes form’, they changed the world of horology, as we know it today. In terms of inspiration, the ampersand-logoed French brand has drawn from the history of aviation and the military specifications and technological advances that accompany it; as a result, each product that rolls from the assembly line is produced with the highest visual and performing qualities. With this philosophy in mind, early models, such as the Space 1 (which was the first automatic chronometer to be worn in space) and the Bomb Disposal Type (a piece of wrist armor that made the harrowing job of defusing explosives much easier) grabbed the attention of enthusiasts. The brand identifies itself as the benchmark in the world of professional aviation wristwatches.
