Bulova Oceanographer with black dial with dots and batons marking each hour. Outer white ring for the minutes. At 12 o’clock is engraved “Oceanographer” and 6 o’clock “200M – Water Resistant – 25 jewels – Automatic”. It is a “Swiss Movt 9240101”. The date for the window is at 3 o’clock. The watch comes with steel hands with the Mercedes design. Black unidirectional bezel and screwed crown. The watch has a stainless-steel back case with engraved outside “Bulova – All Stainless Steel – 200M – Water Resistant – 954508”. Automatic movement with caliber 2824-2 and 25 jewels. The watch comes with a stainless-steel bracelet and Bulova double clasp. The watch comes with an Bulova box, outer box and owner guide.
History
The story of Joseph Bulova started in 1875 in the New York area in opening a small jewelry store in the Maiden Lane. Years after years, Bulova offers a full line of watches. In 1926, Bulova introduce a world premier “a practical clock radio”. 1930-1940 is a period of tremendous success for the brand with its rectangular gold-filled wristwatches with highly cambered cases. In the 1950’s, Bulova is the first with electronic watches, the “Accutron”. In 1967, Bulova bought Universal then in 1979 is acquired by Loews Corp. and in 2001bought Wittnauer.
