Breitling Superocean Chronometre Automatic with Reference A17364 in stainless steel with black dial and Arabic numerals marking hours. There is a red ring on the outer of the dial for the minutes. The hands are white with “Sword” style. The second hand comes with a red arrow. The date window comes at 3 o’clock. At 6 o’clock, you have engraved “Superocean Chorometre Automatic 5000FT /1500M”. It is a Swiss Made model. The watch has a black unidirectional rotative bezel. The watch has a screwed crown with Breitling logo. It is a screw back case with engraved “Breitling Chronometre Officiellement Certifie - Manufacture en Suisse – Etanche 1500m – A17364 – 1351125”. The watch has a Breitling automatic movement with caliber 17 and 25 jewels. The watch comes with a Breitling bracelet and Breitling buckle. It fits a 7.5 inches wrist.
History
Leon Breitling started Breitling in 1884 with his own chronograph. In 1892, Leon built a watch manufacture called “G. Leon Breitling S.A., Montbrillant Watch Factory. In 1914, Gaston Breitling takes over the business and creates the “Vitesse” model. In 1932 Willy Breitling took over his father and creates the “Chronomat” in 1947 and then the “Navitimer” in 1952. In 1962, a Breitling chronograph was catapulted into the space at astronaut Scott Carpenter wrist. Then came the famous caliber 11 in 1969 called “Chronomatic” developed by Breitling and Heuer. The story of Breitling ended in 1979 before being revived by Ernest Schneider in 1982 and managed today by his son Theodore.
